“You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’ But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire. Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are on the way with him, lest your adversary deliver you to the judge, the judge hand you over to the officer, and you be thrown into prison. Assuredly, I say to you, you will by no means get out of there till you have paid the last penny.” Matthew 5: 21-26
Clear our own offenses causes us to live in the fullness of God’s WILL. The power of forgiveness is available to all of us. The sooner the release of the forgiveness the
quicker the reconciliation of matters will take place. How many times we have offended others and we were not even aware of the
damage we caused? How many times others have hurt us and we kept the hurt hidden in a shell for years?
The truth is that people who have offended or are holding an offense from others are never free to be sincere givers. They live a life without trusting God as their Provider of the freedom they need to be loved, respected and understood. It is as if they were slaves of a debt that can never be paid. With and without
understanding the damage caused by the offense it is possible to forgive the offender because of God’s grace.
Let us remember that finances are restored when debts are paid. Any lack of forgiveness is a spiritual debt that has repercussions on the daily living and living
together. “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from allunrighteousness.” 1 John 1-8
Let us pray this simple prayer.
We say Heavenly Father we come before You presence and recognize we were offended by________ and we have offended others with our actions, intentions and
affections. Yes, so many people have been damaged by our own hurt and we do not even know it. We repent and ask YOU for forgiveness. WE ask to restore those that we have directly or indirectly hurt. IN Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Be blessed, Susana Chirillo.
